What powered
the day.
Thirty days of published electricity dispatch, from the source mix down to each reported plant or aggregate. Estimated rooftop solar and mini hydro stay labelled. Storage is kept separate from generation sources.
Window: 7 Sep-6 Oct 2026 · checked 8 Oct · PUCSL daily dispatch · CBSL cross-check published 7 Oct
One day, every source
Includes publisher-estimated generation; storage charge/discharge remains signed.
Major hydro plus telemetered and estimated mini hydro. A desk calculation from reported readings.
CEB and IPP oil combined. This is an energy share, not a fuel-import or tariff forecast.
Latest-day cross-check: 6 Oct total 60.52 GWh, coal 27.1%, oil 4.0%, hydro 46.3%, wind 0.5%, solar 21.5% and biomass 0.6% in CBSL's 6 Oct daily indicators. Peak demand: 2,854.40 MW. Peak demand is power; daily generation is energy. A small cross-publisher difference remains on 5 Oct: this PUCSL snapshot sums to 59.144 GWh (59.14 rounded), while CBSL prints 59.15 GWh. We retain PUCSL readings, not a forced match.
The thirty-day record
1,688.37 GWh reported over 7 Sep-6 Oct. The total agrees with PUCSL's published daily-view window.
BESS is missing on 7-9 Sep, not zero. Those dates show reported-generation totals and a missing-storage flag. Negative BESS means net charging under the source's signed series; it does not become fossil generation. No monthly average or missing-day estimate is inserted.
The readings behind the total
This table follows the day selected above. Some source rows are aggregates, not individual physical plants. No available-capacity, capacity-factor or emissions claim is made.
The source trail
- PUCSL electricity dispatch, generation profile · daily view, 7 Sep-6 Oct and 6 Oct checked visually.
- PUCSL daily-generation data for the displayed window · plant IDs and signed MWh readings.
- CBSL daily indicators, 6 Oct, published 7 Oct · National System Operator generation and peak-demand cross-check.

How this board is calculated
Energy values from the daily API are in MWh; 1,000 MWh = 1 GWh. Their reporting timestamps are converted to the Sri Lankan calendar day (Asia/Colombo), not the preceding UTC date. Source totals sum unique daily plant IDs. Repeated metadata IDs are resolved once, never counted twice. Missing values remain missing. Rows retain PUCSL source names; BESS is displayed as storage rather than using the metadata's fossil-fuel classification. Hydro combines three labelled hydro categories; solar combines ground-mounted and estimated rooftop; oil combines CEB and IPP.
Cost estimates, tariffs, plant efficiency, live dispatch, emissions and reservoir water-volume percentages are not verified by this board. It covers a 30-day energy window, not full electricity-sector parity or an all-number clearance of MacroLens. The terminal's older 1 Oct board remains a separate dated snapshot.
