The price of money.
The price of living.
Policy, funding and lending on one ladder. Colombo and national inflation kept separate. Read the period before comparing a rate: this board mixes weekly market readings with monthly bank averages by design.

Inflation: two baskets, different periods
Core 5.4%, up from 5.1% in August. Food 8.7%; non-food 7.7%. The monthly index change is 0.19%: food contributes 0.15pp and non-food 0.04pp.
Core 6.3%, up from 6.0% in July. Food 6.6%; non-food 9.3%. The monthly index change is 0.26%: food contributes 0.18pp and non-food 0.08pp.
Both series use 2021=100 but cover different households and weights. Core excludes volatile items under each publisher's method. Do not subtract headline and core to call the gap a weighted contribution. The monthly press-release narrative uses expenditure values; its exact monthly rate can differ from the rounded-index table.
Policy to funding to lending
All rates are percent per year. Weekly prior is 2 Oct; monthly prior is July. AWPR is the published weekly weighted prime lending rate, often called AWPLR. It is not the system-wide AWLR.
Source: CBSL Weekly Economic Indicators, 9 Oct 2026, printed page 6 (PDF page 7). The 9 Oct AWPR is 241 basis points above the OPR; this is a same-date difference, not an estimated causal transmission coefficient.
Each bank's prime lending read
Week ending 9 Oct 2026 versus the prior week. CBSL marks Amana, Cargills, Citi and Bank of China as using the latest available rate because that bank did not grant loans during the week. These rows are flagged below.
A surplus, on two different definitions
Overnight liquidity is Rs 134.14bn on 9 Oct. Total outstanding liquidity is Rs 399.14bn. They are not interchangeable.
CBSL defines total outstanding liquidity as overnight liquidity adjusted for outstanding amounts of term repo and reverse-repo transactions with market participants.

Secondary bill quotes, not auction yields
Selected remaining maturities on 9 Oct 2026. These are the published average buying/selling yield columns in two-way quotes, not the 7 Oct primary auction. The latest primary auction remains on the terminal's T-bill board.
